The embodiment of the invention provides an integrated rail switching method and a rail switching unit. The rail changing method comprises the steps that a rail shifting trolley clamps a steel rail head to move in the longitudinal direction so as to drag a steel rail in the longitudinal direction; a lifting mechanism of the rail shifting trolley lifts the steel rail in the vertical direction; a transverse moving mechanism of the rail shifting trolley moves the steel rail in the transverse direction; and the rail shifting trolley converts the new rail from the transportation and storage position of the integrated rail switching unit to the line placement position, and converts the old rail from the line placement position to the transportation and storage position of the integrated rail switching unit. The construction organization mode that transportation, unloading and replacement of a new rail and recycling of an old rail are completed in one skylight point can be achieved, the problem that a long rail is stored on a line is solved, protection work of storage of the steel rail on the line is reduced, and potential safety hazards of storage of the steel rail on the line are eliminated.
