The invention relates to the technical field of automatic control, in particular to a door opening and closing device and a method for controlling door opening and closing. The door opening and closing device comprises a baseplate, a wheel, a power component, and a main engine, wherein the baseplate is used for being fixed to the bottom, close to the ground, of a door; the wheel is fixed to the lower end of the baseplate through a support and is used for being in contact with the ground; the power component is arranged in at least one of the baseplate and the support and is used for driving the wheel to rotate or braking the wheel; the main engine is detachably arranged on the baseplate and is electrically connected to the power component; the main engine comprises a wireless transceiver and a processor; the wireless transceiver is used for receiving a first command; and the processor is used for controlling the power component to drive the wheel based on the first command. The technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention has the beneficial effects that the door opening and closing device can realize the intelligent control of an automatic door, has a simple structure and a small size, and can be applied to an office door or a family room door. A driving device does not need relatively large torque to drive the automatic door to open and close. The automatic door can be positioned at a specified angle or opening and closing degree.
