A ship lift navigable ship draft standard improving method actively utilizes a ship lift docking locking mechanism to bear large unbalanced load, when a ship chamber is docked, the threshold water depth of a ship lift lock head working door is increased, meanwhile, the docking elevation of the ship chamber is reduced to make the ship chamber water level lower than an approach channel water level,and the ship chamber is filled with water through a ship chamber water depth adjusting device to make the water level flush with the approach channel water level, so after docking, the water depth ofthe ship chamber is increased, conditions are provided for improving the draft standard of the ship, and load change caused by increase of the water depth of the ship chamber is borne by the docking locking mechanism; when docking of the ship chamber is relieved, the ship chamber is drained through the ship chamber water depth adjusting device, and the water depth of the ship chamber is reduced toa designed water depth, so it is guaranteed that the lifting load of the ship lift is not changed, and normal lifting operation is not affected. The method is ingenious and easy to implement, and theship draft standard improving effect is remarkable.
