The invention discloses a construction method of a ground anchor type steel structure overhanging sidewalk. The construction method comprises the following steps: 1) construction preparation; 2) sitecleaning and lofting: cleaning the outer side of a road cantilever, and carrying out raft lofting on an original pavement; 3) manufacturing and mounting: manufacturing and mounting raft bottom-layer reinforcing steel bars, hidden beam reinforcing steel bars, main steel beams and raft upper-layer reinforcing steel bars; 4) mounting an outer template: mounting a raft and a hidden beam outer template; (5) concrete pouring and maintenance: pouring concrete into the raft and the hidden beam outer mold, carrying out vibration, and carrying out joint cutting and maintenance after the concrete is solidified; 6) paving a surface layer of the overhanging gallery road; 7) mounting arc-shaped handrails; and 8) paving an asphalt surface layer. The method has the beneficial effects that: the raft hiddenbeam is used as a fulcrum, high-strength anchor bolts are used for acting on an embedded end main steel beam to meet the anchoring force required by design, the inner raft and an old pavement structure are combined into an integral balance weight to provide a guarantee, and cantilever arrangement is conducted according to the principle that the anchoring force plus the integral balance weight islarger than all effective loads borne by the cantilever side on the premise that safety and stability are guaranteed.
