The invention relates to the technical field of shock absorption of buildings, in particular to a buckling restrained brace and a high performance composite structure residential system thereof. The buckling restrained brace comprises an external restraining sleeve, and further comprises an inner core, a restraining ring and a restraining rod arranged in the external restraining sleeve; both the restraining rod and the inner core are arranged in a length direction of the external restraining sleeve, and the restraining ring and the external restraining sleeve are fixed and are arranged outsidethe inner core and the restraining rod in a sleeving mode to fix the inner core and the restraining rod. The retraining rod and the restraining ring restrain buckling of the inner core and limit local buckling of the inner core, so that performance of a core plate is exerted fully. Meanwhile, only the restraining ring needs to be arranged outside the inner core and the restraining rod in a sleeving mode to be fixed during processing, and requirements are low. The buckling restrained brace needs not to be processed in a special plant, so that the buckling restrained brace is simple and convenient to process and easy to operate.
