The aim of the invention is to provide a highway bridge expansion joint structure which is stable in overall structure and long in service life. The highway bridge expansion joint structure comprisestransverse plates, longitudinal components, a filling layer and a covering layer, the transverse plate is arranged above an expansion joint formed by the concrete layer and is connected with the concrete layer through a bolt; two sets of longitudinal components are provided, each group comprises a longitudinal main body and a telescopic adhesive tape; the longitudinal bodies are arranged at two ends of the transverse plate; two parallel inserting grooves are formed in the top of the longitudinal body at intervals, the two ends of the telescopic rubber strip are inserted into the inserting grooves, the two sides of the transverse plate and the two sides of the longitudinal component are bonded with the paving layer into a whole, the filling layer is arranged between the longitudinal components and located between the paving layers, the covering layer is located above the filling layer, and the upper surface of the covering layer is flush with the upper surfaces of the paving layers.
