The protective guard comprises two groups of support members, at least one group of first telescopic assemblies, a first rotating assembly, two groups of automatic limiting assemblies and a limit releasing assembly; the first telescopic assemblies comprise two groups of first movable parts, and the two groups of first movable parts are arranged between the two groups of supporting parts in a sliding manner; the two groups of first moving parts are rotationally connected through the first rotating assembly; when the first movable parts slide to the positions farthest from or closest to the supporting parts, the automatic limiting assemblies automatically limit the first movable parts to slide; and the limit releasing assembly is used for releasing the limiting effect of the automatic limiting assemblies on the first movable parts. By arranging the first rotating assembly, the two groups of first movable parts can rotate relatively to change the size of the included angle formed between the two groups of first movable parts, and therefore the whole protective guard can be adjusted to be in different broken line shapes according to actual requirements so as to be suitable for different road construction occasions.
