The environment-friendly ceramsiteis prepared from the following raw materials in parts by mass: 35-60 parts of lake sludge, 25-45 parts of cow dung and 10-25 parts of hearth ash. The preparation method comprises the specific following steps: mixing the lake sludge and the cow dung according to a certain ratio and carrying out uniform stirring to obtain sludge slurry; then according to a certain proportion, weighing the hearth ash, adding the hearth ash into the sludge slurry, and carrying out uniform stirring so as to obtain mixed slurry; then subjecting the mixed slurry to hermetic aging for 24 hours under the condition of aroom temperature; pouring the aged mixed slurry into a granulator to prepare raw material particles; putting the prepared raw material particles into a rotary kiln, carrying out preheating for a period of time, and conducting sintering according to a certain temperature schedule; and performing air cooling to room temperature so as to obtain the environment-friendly ceramsite with a particle sizeof 20-38 mm, a density grade of 400-600, stacking density of 296-523 kg/m<3>, cylinder compressive strength of 2.2-3.5 MPa, a one-hour water absorption rate of 7.8-10.0% and a heat conductivity coefficient of 0.35-0.54 W/(m.K). According to the invention, the recycling of wastes such as the lake sludge, the cow dung and the hearth ash is realized, environmental pollution is reduced, and the production cost of building materials is reduced.
