The invention discloses a rainwater collection system for a municipal garden. The rainwater collection system comprises a rainwater collection well, an initial rainwater purification device and a medium term rainwater purification device, wherein a rainwater strainer is arranged above the rainwater collection well, an overflow box is arranged below the rainwater strainer and provided with first overflow holes, a water quality detection sensor and a first rainwater outlet are arranged at the bottom of the rainwater collection well, the first rainwater outlet is connected with the initial rainwater purification device through a water delivery pipe, a cylindrical rainwater outlet cavity is arranged in the center of the bottom of the rainwater collection well, the rainwater outlet cavity is provided with a second rainwater outlet, and the second rainwater outlet communicates with the medium term rainwater purification device through a water delivery pipe; the initial rainwater purificationdevice comprises a filtration bin; and the medium term rainwater purification device comprises a precipitation bin, a purification bin, a sterilization bin, a heating bin and a water storage bin. Therainwater collection system divides and filters initial rainwater and medium term rainwater, improves the utilization rate of rainwater and avoids the waste of resources.
