The invention discloses a temporary buttress for mounting box girder pushing equipment and a construction method thereof. Steel pipe piles are driven into an installation position of the box girder pushing equipment in a matrix distribution mode. The parts, exposed out of the ground or a water surface of the installation position, of the steel pipe piles are mutually connected through multiple layers of horizontal supporting pipes; and joints of an upper layer horizontal supporting pipe and a lower layer horizontal supporting pipe and the steel pipe piles are connected through inclined supporting pipes, pile caps are arranged at the tops of the steel pipe piles, distribution beams are fixedly arranged on each row of transversely or longitudinally arranged pile caps, the ends of each row ofdistribution beams are connected through connecting beams, and then track beams are arranged in the middles of each row of distribution beams. The temporary buttress is clear in structural hierarchy, novel and unique in design thought, high in structural strength, high in bearing capacity, not easy to generate deformation, convenient and easy to manufacture and use and good in practicability, operability, expansibility and safety, a problem of box girder pushing operation in road and bridge constructionis well solved, and the temporary buttress has a great application and popularization value.
