The h-BN@Al2O3 coated powder is prepared through a non-uniform nucleation method. The self-lubricating ceramic cutting tool material disclosed by the invention is relatively good in sintering compactness, the coated powder is free from agglomeration, and the self-lubricating ceramic cutting tool material has good bonding degree with an Al2O3/TiC matrix, so that the mechanical property of the ceramic material is enhanced.
