The invention discloses a safety protection device for tunnel engineering construction, and relates to the technical field of construction auxiliary equipment. The device comprises two bases, whereina set of symmetrically arranged compression-resistant tensile parts are hinged to one surface of each of the two bases, the compression-resistant tensile parts comprise sleeves, the inner walls of thesleeves are slidably connected with sliding rods, the circumferential side surfaces of the sliding rods are connected with tensile springs and compression-resistant springs in a sleeve mode, supporting frames are hinged to the surfaces of the two bases, the ends, far away from the bases, of the two sets of compression-resistant tensile parts are hinged to the supporting frames, stretchable mechanisms are mounted between the inner surfaces of the supporting frames, and two symmetrically-arranged buffer pieces are fixedly connected to the surfaces of the supporting frames. According to the device, through design of the stretchable mechanisms and an unwinding roller, a fixed structure of a traditional guardrail is changed into a stretchable structure, and through implementation of a stretchable function, the device can be conveniently transported and rapidly arranged, and the device can adapt to various scene layout requirements through implementation of the stretchable function.
