The invention relates to a capillary crystalline backwater coating and a preparation method thereof. The coating comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 420-440 parts of Portland cement, 390-410 parts of quartz sand, 70-90 parts of quartz powder, 50-70 parts of latex powder, 8-12 parts of sodium silicate, 8-12 parts of borax, 1.5-2.5 parts of a powder defoaming agent, 1.5-2.5 parts of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, 4-4.5 parts of polyvinyl alcohol, 0.8-1.2 parts of a water reducing agent and 0.6-1 part of hydrophobic powder. The capillary crystalline type backwater coating is excellent in mortar impermeability and concrete impermeability, and particularly high in backwater pressure secondary impermeability; the preparation method only needs to uniformly stir and mix theraw materials, the process is simple and easy to control, and large-scale production is facilitated.
