The vegetation covering slope protection system comprises a slope, a protection layer arranged on theslope, a plurality of protection plates arranged on the slope and used for separating the protection layer, a slope top layer arranged at the top of the slope and a drainage pipe communicating with the slope top layer, wherein the bottom of each protection plate is embedded in the slope, a baffle is arranged on the side, near the protection layer, of the slope top layer, and the top of the protection layer makes close contact with the baffle; and the slope top layer is provided with a water guide groove, and the water guide groove communicates with the drainage pipe.
