The method comprises the steps that 1, a catwalk bearing cable, a catwalk guardrail cable and catwalk traction cables are erected; 2, a catwalk plate laying device is installed; 3, catwalk plates are stacked in the catwalk plate laying device, lowering the catwalk plate laying device to the center of a catwalk mid-span by using the catwalk traction cable, the catwalk plates are laid from the center to the end, and the catwalk plate laying device is dragged by catwalk traction cable to walk towards the end of the catwalk in the laying process; and 4, in the laying process, the other catwalk traction cable is used for dragging a feeding trolley, the feeding trolley is used for conveying the catwalk plates to the catwalk plate laying device from the end of the catwalk, and the catwalk plates on the catwalk plate laying device are supplemented till catwalk plate laying of the whole catwalk is completed. Manual close-range intervention is not needed, the catwalk paving efficiency is improved, and meanwhile, the safety of constructors isguaranteed.
