The invention relates to a renovation transformation construction method for a large building roof, and belongs to the technical field of renovation and transformation of a building roof. The method comprises the following steps of S1, removing a roof protection layer to a waterproof layer, and reserving the complete waterproof layer; S2, detecting the positions of roof panels, cutting and separating along seams between adjacent roof panels, simultaneously cutting and separating welding positions between the roof panels to be removed and a steel beam, in-situ mounting a new roof panel immediately after one old roof panel is removed by using the method of dismounting and mounting therewith, and filling seams of adjacent newly-mounted roof panels with mortar; and S3, after replacement with arow of new roof panels is completed, making a first waterproof layer adhering to the row of new roof panels, and making the first waterproof layer in lap joint with the waterproof layer of the old roof and sealing. When the old roof panels are replaced with the new roof panels, the complete waterproof structure of the roof can be ensured all the time, the indoor leakage is avoided during rainfallor snowfall, and normal use of a building is ensured.
