The invention relates to a self-resetting deformation and energy consumption type metal damper. The self-resetting deformation and energy consumption type metal damper comprises a fixing plate connected with a building structural part, a slidable guide rod fixedly installed on one side of the fixing plate, and a protective shell arranged on the slidable guide rod in a sleeving mode; and the interior of the protective shell is provided with metallic energy consumption plates making contact with the upper side surface and the lower side surface of the slidable guide rod, and the outer side wallof the protective shell is connected with the building structural part. According to the metal damper, through interaction of the metallic energy consumption plates, springs and the slidable guide rod, transmitted earthquake loads and wind loads are consumed through deformation of the metallic energy consumption plates, and thus, damage energy of the earthquake loads and wind loads is weakened under the condition that a building is protected to the greatest extent.
