The invention discloses a rapid construction cutting retaining wall and a construction method thereof. The rapid construction cutting retaining wall comprises at least two gabion stone cages, a waterdrain pipe, anti-seepage geotechnical cloth and a wall top waterproof backfill layer; the gabion stone cages are uniformly piled at a cutting slope and are sequentially arranged upwards along the toeof the cutting slope; a drain hole is formed in the piled gabion stone cages, one end of the water drain pipe is connected with the drain hole, and the other end of the water drain pipe extends alongthe outer sides of the gabion stone cages; and the anti-seepage geotechnical cloth is arranged below the drain hole, and a water-resisting layer is further arranged below the anti-seepage geotechnicalcloth. The problems that in conventional retaining wall construction, a wall body is poured by erecting a formwork front and back, then wall back backfilling is carried out, and consequently backfilling construction is difficult are solved, the construction procedures are reduced, the construction period is greatly shortened, meanwhile, a gabion stone cage assembly can be self-stabilized, and a certain supporting and blocking effect on a side slope is achieved.
