The invention relates to an asymmetric U-shaped corrugated double-layer inclined-seam steel plate damper, and belongs to the technical field of civil engineering energy dissipation and shock absorption. The metal damper is composed of two U-shaped energy dissipation pieces which are horizontally and oppositely arranged, two double-layer inclined-seam steel plates, an upper cover plate and a lowercover plate. Based on the design concepts that multiple safety mechanisms are adopted, energy dissipation elements can be replaced, the shear bearing capacity is improved, out-of-plane buckling is restrained, and multiple shear energy dissipation mechanisms work cooperatively, the limitation of a traditional metal damper is broken through.
