The invention discloses a prestress monitoring method of an existing anchor cable. An outer anchor ring force transmission structure and an anchor cable prestress monitoring device are mainly adoptedto achieve the purpose of monitoring the prestress of the anchor cable in real time, the outer anchor ring force transmission structure comprises an outer anchor ring, bolt clamping pieces are inserted between the outer anchor ring and an existing anchor ring, and jacking devices are placed on the lower portion of the outer anchor ring. A jacking distance measuring instrument is fixed between theouter anchor ring and an anchor backing plate, prestress applied to the existing anchor ring can be effectively transmitted to the anchor cable prestress monitoring device through the outer anchor ring force transmission structure, accordingly, the prestress condition of the anchor cable is monitored in real time, and the device is simple, convenient to operate and low in cost. Especially the requirements for the shape of an existing anchor ring of an existing anchor cable and the exposed length of the anchor cable are low, no structural influence is generated on the existing anchor ring, thejacking devices and the jacking distance measuring instrument can be repeatedly used, and the use cost is saved.
