The invention relates to a lock assembly. The lock assembly comprises a lock plug and a deadbolt, wherein the lock plug comprises a cam; and the deadbolt comprises a first cam follower and a second cam follower, and the first cam follower and the second cam follower are constructed into receiving cams. Rotation of the lock plug in a first rotation direction enables the cam to communicate with thefirst cam follower so as to drive the deadbolt from a retraction position to a first extending position, and further rotation of the lock plug in the first rotation direction enables the cam to communicate with the first cam follower so as to drive the deadbolt from the first extending position to a second extending position; and rotation of the lock plug in a second rotation direction opposite tothe first rotation direction enables the cam to communicate with the second cam follower so as to drive the deadbolt from the second extending position to the first extending position, and further rotation of the lock plug in the second rotation direction enables the cam to communicate with the first cam follower so as to drive the deadbolt from the first extending position to the retraction position.
