The invention discloses a production process of water-reducing slump-retaining polycarboxylic acid. The production process comprises the following steps: S1, providing water and polyether; S2, providing raw materials, wherein the raw materials comprise a mixture of A, B and C, liquid caustic soda and a catalyst; S3, starting a stirring paddle, and controlling the temperature in the reaction kettleto be between 20 DEG C and 30 DEG C in the whole process; S4, sequentially adding part of the mixture A and a certain amount of liquid caustic soda to enable the pH value of the mixed solution to beweakly acidic; S5, adding the catalyst, and dropwise adding the remaining mixture A, all the mixture C and part of the mixture B at the same time; S6, after the mixture A and the mixture C are drippedback, the remaining mixture B is dripped off; and S7, after the mixture B is dropwise added, adding the residual liquid caustic soda to neutralize to a specified pH value. The production process canimprove the conversion rate so that the production cost can be reduced.
