The invention discloses an assembly type reinforcing facility for preventing a bridge from overturning and a control method. The facility comprises a beam body, a pier stud, a steel cover beam, vertical profile steel supports and a rubber cushion block. A top of the pier stud is connected with the beam body; the steel cover beam is arranged on the outer wall of the pier stud; and a bottom of thepier stud is connected with the base, the vertical profile steel supports are arranged on the two sides of the steel cover beam, the rubber cushion block is arranged at the top ends of the vertical profile steel supports, a sensor is arranged in the rubber cushion block, and the rubber cushion block is not connected with the beam body. The facility and the method have advantages that the structureis simple and a stress form is clear; an original structure is not damaged under a condition that bar planting is not performed; the fabricated structure is convenient to construct, and only boltingof steel hoops is needed on site; and an anti-overturning effect is good, instantaneous overturning damage of the beam body is changed into ductile eccentric compression damage of the pier stud, and the pier stud can be detected and reinforced in a later period.
