The invention belongs to the technical field of materials, and particularly relates to geopolymer powder and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method of geopolymer powder in the inventioncomprises the following steps: preparing alumina sol by using water or a water-containing mixed solvent as a solvent, and preparing silica sol by using an organic solvent; mixing the aluminum sol andthe silica sol to obtain mixed sol; carrying out water-bath maintenance on the mixed sol to obtain gel; and sequentially aging, drying, calcining and ball-milling the gel to obtain the geopolymer powder. According to the invention, water is used for completely or partially replacing an organic solvent to prepare Al(OH)3 sol, and the Al(OH)3 sol is mixed with the silica sol to obtain uniform and transparent colloid, so uniform mixing of the alumina sol and the silica sol is realized, and the uniformity and purity of geopolymer powder are improved. According to the preparation method provided bythe invention, water is substantially used for completely or partially replacing an organic solvent in the sol, so production cost is reduced, dissolving time is shortened, and the requirement for green production is better met.
