The invention relates to an offshore wind power self-standing type polygonal cylinder type foundation. The foundation comprises a transition section and a polygonal cylinder arranged at the lower endof the transition section; the upper end of the transition section is in butt joint with a tower cylinder; a polygonal bottom plate is arranged at the top of the polygonal cylinder; a bottom plate beam system is arranged on the polygonal bottom plate; and the lower end of the transition section is connected with the polygonal bottom plate through the bottom plate beam system. The defects that a steel cylinder wall of a traditional cylinder foundation is prone to buckling, formwork erecting cannot be realized due to the fact that the span of the bottom plate is too large, a jig frame needs to be arranged, and stability is poor during floating transportation are overcome; the foundation is suitable for ocean geological conditions with a thick soft clay layer and has the advantages of being large in bearing area, capable of negative-pressure sinking, capable of being installed in one step, good in-place stability and the like; the foundation further has the unique advantages that the cylinder wall cannot be bent, the span of the bottom plate is reduced, formwork erecting is convenient, the floating transportation gravity center of the foundation is low, the stability is good, the costof a jig frame is saved, formwork manufacturing is convenient, and the recycling rate is high; and the stability of foundation sinking construction is improved, and the comprehensive manufacturing cost can be reduced by 10%-25% compared with a conventional composite cylinder type foundation.
