The invention discloses a car roof tent. The car roof tent comprises a car 1, an extension ladder 2, a fixed box body 3, a movable box body 4, U-shaped supporting rods 5, tent cloth 6 and the like. Each box body is a dustpan-like shell made of a sandwich composite material. The fixed box body 3 is fixed on the car roof, the fixed box body 3 and the movable box body 4 are hinged together through hinges 7, and the movable box body 4 can rotate by 180 degrees around the hinges 7. During driving, the two box bodies are closed, and the U-shaped supporting rods 5, the tent cloth 6 and the like are folded in the closed box bodies.
