The invention relates to the field of bridge construction, in particular to a splay cable band construction process for for a gravity type anchorage of a large-span suspension bridge. The constructionprocess is characterized by comprising the following steps of: firstly, mounting a splay cable band base and a lower band, pre-mounting a splay cable band upper band after a main cable passes througha lower band groove to be initially in place, applying initial stress by a pull rod, conducting loading step by step by installing a main bridge stiffening beam in a staged mode to change the tensionof the main cable, in the process, using a jack for gradually adjusting the splay cable band upper band, matching a splay cable band head cable clamp and a strand clamping device to reset the main cable at the end of the splay cable band, conducting multiple times of adjustment to enable the porosity of the splay cable band upper band and the splay cable band lower band to reach a standard, and gradually adjusting the tightening force of the splay cable band pull rod in place.
