The invention provides a corner displacement type friction damper, and relates to the technical field of earthquake resistance and wind resistance of buildings and houses. The corner displacement typefriction damper comprises a supporting rod, wherein an upper connecting hinge and a lower connecting hinge are correspondingly and rotationally arranged at the two ends of the supporting rod; the rotating planes of the upper connecting hinge and the lower connecting hinge are parallel to the axis of the supporting rod; friction plates are arranged at the two ends of the supporting rod; and the two friction plates are in friction fit with the upper connecting hinge and the lower connecting hinge correspondingly. According to the corner displacement type friction damper, the problem that an existing friction damper is low in energy consumption efficiency is solved.
