A construction method of a novel bridge deck expansion joint structure comprises the steps that a first rigid unit, an elastic unit, a second rigid unit, a third rigid unit and a fixing assembly are prefabricated; the first rigid units and the elastic units are alternately arranged on the two sides of the second rigid units to form a telescopic structure, and the two third rigid units are clampedon the two sides of the telescopic structure; the telescopic mechanism is pre-pressed according to the air temperature during construction, and then the third rigid unit and the telescopic mechanism are fixed through a fixing clamping plate; the telescopic structure is placed on a bridge expansion joint, the telescopic structure and the third rigid unit are fixed to a bridge through the fixing assembly, then the fixing clamping plate is detached, and when the bridge deck expansion joint stretches out and draws back, the first rigid unit and the elastic unit can slide back and forth on the twosides of the second rigid unit. According to the construction method, operations such as steel bar welding and cast-in-place cement concrete are not needed, construction is more convenient, and the construction period is shorter.
