The invention belongs to the technical field of building construction, and particularly relates to a novel composite floor slab for a building and a construction method thereof. The novel composite floor slab for the building comprises a plurality of prefabricated bottom plate modules which are spliced in sequence, each prefabricated bottom plate module comprises a first prefabricated bottom plateand a second prefabricated bottom plate which are in lap joint with each other, the side, facing the second prefabricated bottom plate, of the first prefabricated bottom plate is provided with a first stepped surface, and the side, facing the first prefabricated bottom plate, of the second prefabricated top plate is provided with a second step face, and the first step face is in inserted fit withthe second step face; the first prefabricated bottom plate and the second prefabricated bottom plate are fixedly connected through a fixing piece; and a panel reinforcing mesh is laid on all the prefabricated bottom plate modules, and a concrete layer is poured. By means of lap joint of the stepped structure, lap joint construction between the prefabricated bottom plates is more convenient, and through connection of the fixing pieces, the first prefabricated bottom plate and the second prefabricated bottom plate are tightly attached to each other at the lap joint position, and the stability of the adjacent overlapped prefabricated bottom plates is improved.
