The invention discloses a water stop cofferdam structure. The structure comprises a cofferdam main body and is characterized in that the cofferdam main body is formed by filling clay, and fir piles and a waterproof geotextile layer are arranged in the cofferdam main body. A construction method of the water stop cofferdam structure comprises the following steps that A, sundries at the bottom of thecofferdam main body are removed; B, two rows of the fir piles are inserted forwards by a certain distance; C, a waterproof geotextile is arranged on one side of the upstream face of each fir pile; D,clay is filled along a slope from a weir head exposed out of the water surface, ing the inner side and the outer side of each fir pile is symmetrically and uniformly filled, and vibration is performed to ensure the filling compactness; E, the fir piles and the waterproof geotextiles are constructed synchronously, the construction distance is larger than the clay filling length, and enough lap joint length between adjacent waterproof geotextiles is guaranteed; and F, the aforesaid steps are repeated until the cofferdam main body reaches an opposite bank, and filling of the cofferdam main bodyis completed.
