The invention relates to the technical field of building external wall insulation, in particular to an insulation board unit, an insulation board structure and a construction method. The insulation board unit comprises a board body, wherein a protection device is arranged on the board body, the protection device comprises a plurality of shading pieces arranged on the using face of the board body,the shading pieces are sequentially arranged in parallel and obliquely arranged in the same direction, and a gap is further formed between every two adjacent shading pieces, so that the protection device forms a scale-shaped hollowed-out shading structure on the using face of the board body. The invention further discloses the insulation board structure composed of the insulation board units and the construction method of the insulation board structure. According to the insulation board unit and the insulation board structure, sunlight can be prevented from directly irradiating the board bodies, heat dissipation of the board bodies can be assisted, and therefore the heat preservation effect of the insulation board unit and the insulation board structure composed of the insulation board units can be improved.
