The invention provides a connecting assembly of shear-resistant short bracket steel beam reinforced by stiffening ribs and a connecting method of the connecting assembly. The connecting assembly comprises short bracket steel beams. The short bracket steel beam comprises an upper steel plate, a lower steel plate and a web arranged between the upper steel plate and the lower steel plate. The plane where the web is located is perpendicular to the plane where the upper steel plate is located, and the upper steel plate is parallel to the lower steel plate. A notch is formed in the upper end of theweb, so that the end surface of one end of the web is stepped. The assembly further comprises a connecting plate. The connecting plate is connected with the web plate in a mutually perpendicular manner. Upper stiffening ribs and lower stiffening ribs are further included. The upper stiffening ribs are arranged on the two sides of the upper end, the lower stiffening ribs are arranged on the two sides of the lower end, and the projections, perpendicular to the connecting plate, of the upper stiffening ribs and the projections, perpendicular to the connecting plate, of the lower stiffening ribs are spaced by a certain distance. A connecting hole is formed in the connecting plate. By applying the technical scheme, the mounting efficiency of the steel beam can be greatly improved, the labor intensity of mounting workers is reduced, and the steel structure mounting period is shortened.
