The small vertical rammer compactor comprises a machine shell, wherein a rotating motor is fixedly connected in the machine shell; a main driving rod is connected to a rotating shaft of the rotating motor; a driving bevel gear is fixedly connected to one end of the main driving rod; the driving bevel gear is in meshed transmission with a driven bevel gear; the driven bevel gear is connected with and drives a transmission shaft; one end of the transmission shaft is connected with and drives a cam; a connecting frame rod is eccentricallyand rotationally connected to the cam surface of the cam; and a corresponding tamping hammer is hinged to one end of the connecting frame rod. According to the small vertical rammer compactor, the motor and a corresponding transmission mechanism are used for driving the tamping hammer to impact the ground, so that the ground is flat; and in addition, the structure is simple, the stability is good, the use is convenient, the portability is good, and the small vertical rammer compactor can be flexibly applied to various working environments.
