The energy dissipation groove comprises a first flip bucket and second flip buckets, wherein the first flip bucketcomprises a top face and a first overflow face smoothly extending outwards from the top face, the top face is higher than the first overflow face, the second flip buckets comprise tops and second overflow faces extending from the tops to the first flip bucket, the bottoms of the second overflow faces are smoothly connected with the extending tail end of the first overflow face, an energy dissipation bucket is arranged at the lowest position of the first overflow face, and the tops is higher than the top face. The invention further provides the energy dissipation well. The energy dissipation well comprises a shaft and the energy dissipation groove, and the energy dissipation groove is formed in the bottom in the shaft. Through cooperation of the multiple overflow faces, water flow can be guided to the energy dissipation bucket, fierce surface spinning rolling is generated at the energy dissipation bucket, a large energy dissipation effect is achieved through surges behind the energy dissipation bucket and bottom spinning rolling, the water flow can be popped into the air through kinetic energy of the water flow by means of the arranged second flip buckets, aeration and dispersion are generated, and a part of kinetic energy is lost.
