The invention provides a large vertical storage tank. The large vertical storage tank comprises an inner tank and a reinforcing ring arranged at the top of the inner tank, wherein a wing plate and a web plate of the reinforcing ring at the top define an annular track. The large vertical storage tank further comprises a translation structure, a hanging basket assembly and a guide part, wherein thetranslation structure moves along the annular track; and the translation structure comprises a moving frame, walking wheels and a cantilever, wherein the walking wheels and the cantilever are installed on the moving frame. The cantilever is provided with a transverse beam extending towards the inner side wall of the inner tank. The hanging basket assembly is hung on the cantilever and can ascend and descend relative to the cantilever. The guide part is correspondingly arranged at the end of the transverse beam, the guide part is movably connected with the inner side wall of the inner tank, andthe guide part can move along with the moving frame so as to drive the hanging basket assembly to move in the circumferential direction. Therefore, the hanging basket assembly can freely move in theup-down direction and the left-right direction and can reach all positions on a wall plate of the inner tank, the labor intensity of workers for disassembling temporary clamps is reduced, the workingefficiency is improved, and safe operation is facilitated.
