The river channel ecological protection slope comprises a slope, wherein hollow prefabricated parts are laid on the slope; through holes are formed in the side surfaces of the hollow prefabricated parts; the through holes of the two connected hollow prefabricated parts communicate with each other; the hollow prefabricated parts are filled with planting bases; and the planting bases comprise at least soil, ceramsite, biocharand plant fibers. According to the river channel ecological protection slope and the construction method thereof, the through holes are formed in the side surfaces of the hollow prefabricated parts,so that the through holes of the two connected hollow prefabricated parts communicate with each other, and the problem that plants are in a flood disaster due to water accumulation in the hollow prefabricated parts can be effectively solved; the hollow prefabricated parts are filled with the ceramsite, so that the air permeability of the soil can be effectively improved, and the growth level of the plants can be improved; and the planting bases are filled with the biochar and the plant fibers, so that pollutants which are flushed into a river channel by rainwater and surface runoff can be adsorbed, and the purification capacity of a water body can be effectively improved. By utilizing the river channel ecological protection slope and the construction method thereof, a river channel ecological system can be repaired and improved.
