The invention discloses a self-rescue device used when an excavator sinks into sludge. The self-rescue device comprises an excavator body, a lifting sliding block is installed on the right side of theexcavator body in an up-down sliding mode, an overturning block is rotatably installed on the right portion of the lifting sliding block, a lifting mechanism is arranged on the left portion of the lifting sliding block, and an overturning mechanism is arranged on the right portion of the lifting sliding block. A lifting mechanism is arranged in the overturning block and the lifting sliding block,a disengaging mechanism is arranged in the overturning block, a separating mechanism is arranged in the overturning block, the device is installed on the side face of the excavator body, when the excavator body is sunken into sludge, the device can be lifted upwards to be away from the sludge, and then a steel plate on the device is overturned to be horizontal and pressed on the sludge, the pressure of the excavator applied onto the sludge is reduced, so that the excavator is pulled out of the sludge through counter-acting force, then the movable steel plate can be moved to the position belowan excavator crawler belt through rotation and then separated from the excavator body, and therefore the excavator can leave the sludge by means of driving force of the excavator.
