HONEYCOMB STRUCTURAL BODY, EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION DEVICE, EXHAUST SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HONEYCOMB STRUCTURAL BODY
Provided are a honeycomb structural body and an exhaust gas purification device that are capable of burning off and removing carbon particulates by means of electric heating, that can be used at a position where condensate water is generated, that are free from short circuiting due to condensate water or carbon deposition, and that exhibit low pressure loss. This honeycomb structural body has a columnar shape and has: porous partition walls which provide flow channels for a fluid and which partition off and form a plurality of cells extending from an inflow end face, which is the end face disposed on the inflow side of the fluid, to an outflow end face, which is the end face disposed on the outflow side of the fluid; and an outer peripheral wall disposed at the outermost periphery. The partition walls each have a superficial layer that is provided to at least a portion of the surface of the partition wall. The superficial layer includes magnetic particles and has air permeability.
