The invention discloses an assembly type bridge expansion joint and relates to the technical field of bridge construction. The joint comprises a main toothed plate, an auxiliary toothed plate, a prefabricated cement component, a water stop device, an embedded part, a bolt, a leveling device and a damping device, wherein the main toothed plate and the auxiliary toothed plate are arranged in a matched mode, and the main toothed plate and the auxiliary toothed plate are each provided with a bolt mounting hole; the embedded part is embedded in a base layer during bridge deck construction, and theembedded part is of a sleeve structure provided with internal threads; through holes matched with the embedded parts in position are formed in the prefabricated cement components; the leveling deviceis arranged above the prefabricated cement part; the damping device is a damping rubber plate; and the water stop device is a waterproof rubber plate. The invention further provides a construction process of the fabricated bridge expansion joint based on the characteristics. The joint is simple in structure, short in installation time, low in maintenance cost, long in service life, convenient to maintain and replace, good in damping effect and capable of being constructed in winter.
