The invention relates to the technical field of environmental protection engineering, in particular to an environment-friendly riverway cleaning method and system. The method comprises the following steps that riverway cleaning sub-devices are built in a construction position on a riverway; sewage collecting ditches are dug in the two banks of the riverway of each corresponding riverway cleaning sub-device; foundation piles are wedged into the four corners of the interior of each sewage collecting ditch to form a support; an upper drainage channel communicating with the riverway is dug below the river levee foundation on the upper part of each sewage collecting ditch, and upper-layer water of the riverway is drained into a silt collecting diamond water filtering tank in each sewage collecting ditch through the corresponding upper drainage channel; the silt collecting diamond water filtering tank is lifted regularly to collect and clean internal sludge, and regular collection of riverway silt is guaranteed. According to the method, when the riverway is cleaned, assembling of the whole system can be completed through pre-construction, and after assembling is completed, multi-point circulating cleaning of pollutants and the silt in the riverway can be carried out on time according to needs.
