The method comprises the specific steps of collecting basic information related to a detected bridge; analyzing the basic condition of the detected bridge by utilizing an image fusion detection method according to the collected basic information, and generating a maintenance suggestion of the detected bridge; wherein the basic information of the tested bridge comprises bridge environment information, traffic information and bridge basic information. The invention also discloses a detection system for realizing the bridge detection method according to the intelligent bridge detection method, and discloses a functional bridge detection robot for realizing bridge detection by using the bridge detection method and the detection system. Accurate positioning of bridge diseases can be realized, a bridge is comprehensively detected by using ultrasonic and infrared thermal imaging modes, and meanwhile, a bridge maintenance strategy is formulated according to a detection analysis result of the bridge for reference of maintenance personnel.
