The vertical automatic tiling device comprises a base, a mounting plate, a coating mechanism and a tiling mechanism; a connecting column is connected to the output end of a second motor, and limiting frames are fixedly connected to the sides, away from the connecting column, of a transverse plate; and the two ends of a connecting shaft are slidably connected into sliding grooves in the two limiting frames correspondingly, the connecting shaft is sleeved with a brush roller, a reversing wheel is installed at the top of a supporting rod, and a retractor is installed at the end, away from the supporting rod, of the transverse plate. According to the vertical automatic wall tiling device and the operation method thereof, the coating mechanism is additionally arranged, before tiling, slurry is brushed on a wall body through the brush roller in advance, and when the slurry is supplemented to the brush roller, the fallen slurry is recycled through a collecting tank, so that waste is reduced, the wall body tiling effect is better, the position switching between the coating mechanism and a tiling mechanism is more flexible, and therefore the tiling efficiency and quality are improved.
