The invention relates to the field of ceramic material production, in particular to a method for preparing foamed ceramic from ceramic production waste. The method comprises the following steps: 1, batching: a high-temperature foaming agent is added into well-known ceramic production waste serving as a main raw material to prepare a foamed ceramic raw material; 2, material distributing and firing: the prepared raw material is subjected to punch forming or directly scattered in refractory kiln furniture to be fired in a kiln, the firing stage is provided with a transition cooling section, the transition cooling section is located between a firing section and a quenching section, the temperature range is from the highest firing temperature to 1000 DEG C, and the cooling rate of the transition cooling section is 2-8 DEG C/min; and 3, polishing and cutting: a foamed ceramic blank obtained after firing in the step 2 is subjected to polishing and cutting treatment to obtain the required foamed ceramic product. Compared with the prior art, the scheme can ensure that the foamed ceramic has high quality and high-quality product rate while a large amount of ceramic production waste materials are utilized.
