The invention discloses an intelligent fire hydrant. The intelligent fire hydrant comprises a fire hydrant body and a vibration sensor, a pressure sensor, a MCU and a wireless transmission module, wherein the vibration sensor is installed at the top of the fire hydrant body and used for collecting vibration data of the fire hydrant, the pressure sensor is installed in a water inlet pipe of the fire hydrant and is used for acquiring pressure data in the pipe, the MCU is electrically connected with the vibration sensor and the pressure sensor correspondingly through a filtering module so as to be used for receiving the vibration data and the pressure data and judging whether the fire hydrant main body is in a valve opening state or not according to the vibration data and the pressure data, and the wireless transmission module is connected with the MCU. The invention further discloses a fire hydrant monitoring method. According to the fire hydrant monitoring method, an alarm can be given to a platform to inform related personnel when the water pressure is insufficient and people steal water, so that the fire safety is guaranteed.
