The preparation method comprises the following steps: providing a wall brick; according to the shape requirements of decorative patterns, laying a shielding layer on the surface of the wall brick, wherein the shape of the area, not shielded by the shielding layer, of the surface of the wall brick is the required pattern shape; performing powder deposition on the area, which is not shielded by the shielding layer, of the surface of the wall brick by utilizing thermal spraying or cold spraying to prepare a decorative layer, and removing the shielding layer to obtain the decorative wall brick. According to the method, the presentation effect of various decorative patterns can be achieved by selecting corresponding raw material types and contents and spraying process parameters according to decorative requirements, the flexibility is high, and the method is not limited by the flatness of the surface of the wall brick; the preparation method of the decorative wall brick is easy to operate, high in production efficiency, suitable for production of various batches of products, low in equipment input cost, raw material cost and equipment operation cost and good in economic benefit.
