The water-taking and sand-preventing composite structure comprises a water volume adjusting reservoir, a sand-preventing system and a water-taking system, wherein the sand-preventing system is arranged on the upstream side of the water volume adjusting reservoir, and the water-taking system is arranged on the downstream side of the water volume adjusting reservoir; and sediment mixed in river water flow is preliminarily filtered through the sand-preventing system, and filtered water in the water volume adjusting reservoir is output to the power station through the water-taking system.
