The invention belongs to the technical field of parking space sharing and parking robots, and discloses an overall parking space sharing method based on a parking robot. A parking robot is used for parking and picking up the vehicle, vehicle handover is completed at the parking exchange position, and a special channel is used; the parking space renter sends a parking space sharing parking request, or the parking space owner sends a parking space owner parking request, and the vehicle is parked in the parking exchange space; the parking robot carries the vehicle from the parking exchange position to any unused parking space in the parking lot; the parking space renter sends a parking space sharing vehicle taking request and settles the fee, or the parking space owner sends a parking space owner vehicle taking request; and the parking robot carries the vehicle from the parking space where the vehicle is parked to the parking exchange position. The parking robot is adopted to carry the vehicle, proprietor specific management of the parking space which can be used for parking space sharing is not needed, and problems caused by parking space sharing and various disputes caused by the fact that the parking space is not used according to the parking space sharing agreement can be avoided.
