The invention discloses a falling object prevention device for building construction. The device comprises a mounting base, falling prevention plates and buffer devices arranged on the falling prevention plates, wherein the section of the mounting base is of a T-shaped structure; mounting holes are formed in the upper end face of the mounting base at equal intervals; the falling prevention plates include a first falling prevention plate and a second falling prevention plate; the first falling prevention plate and the second falling prevention plate are detachably connected; fixed frames of ] structures are fixed to the edges of the upper end faces of the first falling prevention plate and the second falling prevention plate; the buffer devices include a first buffer device fixed to the first falling prevention plate and a second buffer device fixed to the second falling prevention plate; each of the first buffer device and the second buffer device sequentially comprises a second buffer pad and a first buffer pad from top to bottom; and each second buffer pad is composed of a buffer steel wire mesh and a buffer frame fixed in the buffer steel wire mesh. The device is simple in structure and good in protective effect, and the device can be detached, so that the device is convenient to carry after the construction period is finished.
