The invention provides a road safety island, which comprises a foundation part and a protection part, the foundation part is of an annular frame structure and comprises a plurality of supporting parts, at least one supporting part and a plurality of connecting parts, first mounting holes extending in the vertical direction are formed in the connecting parts, and the supporting parts and the connecting parts are detachably connected with the supporting parts correspondingly; the protection part comprises at least one protection island head and a plurality of protection columns, the protection island heads are detachably connected to the upper ends of the supporting parts in a sleeving mode, and the lower ends of the protection columns are detachably connected into the first mounting holes in an inserted mode; the invention further provides a road safety island construction method. According to the road safety island and the construction method thereof, the supporting parts, the supporting parts, the connecting parts, the protection island head and the protection columns can be prefabricated in a factory, quick assembly is achieved on a construction site, and only pits matched with the foundation part in shape and size need to be dug in a road during construction; therefore, the technical problems that an existing road safety island is low in construction efficiency and too much construction waste is generated during construction are solved.
